  1. Hi Stephen

Councillor Jim Grieve of the SNP was off work for the best part of two years.

Along with his discredited friend Stuart McMillan MSP he promised SNP members that he was magically well enough to stand for election again.

He got elected in May this year and went on the sick again straight away. He is off work again. I hear he is planning to attend once every six months for the next five years to ensure that he breaks none of the rules.

    No one seems to care.

  2. Have you raised your concerns with the SNP Group Leader, Councillor Keith Brooks?

  3. Hi Mr Mcabe,

You may recall I have previously raised concerns about councillor Grieves, I was aware there was a medical problem but not that he was planning to see 5 more years out without any work. Will this man really be able to take 7 years worth of public money for nothing in return. He is no better than a common benefit scrounger .

Apart from raising a concern with Keith Brookes wich I think would prove pointless for political reasons.
Is there any other course of action I can take to have the appropriate representation we voted for.

    Elizabeth Cairns

  4. I suggest that you contact Councillor Brooks in the first instance to clarify the position with Councillor Grieve, Mrs Cairns.

Alternatively you may wish to write to him via the local newspaper.

  5. I Cant understand why neither the council nor the SNP cant discipline someone who treats his party and Inverclyde as pension top up,I thought there must be at least a minimum an elected official would have to do work wise to stay a councillor,
I dont see his party doing anything about it though, why would they discipline one of their own.

  8. hi mr mc cabe I write to ask if my family could enjoy a day out on the waverley with the 45 grand the council are giving them, I just don't get how it is short of funds. 99% of it s crew are volantry, it costs over a 100£ for a family of 4 to go a short day trip and when I worked on it at garvel dry dock , the corners cut on repairs astonished me. ie I spent a whole day making up new rivets for front stem only to have them scrapped to make up pound coin size discs , tack them on and let the public think they were rivets. come on . were is the 45 grand really going?
