A battle for survival

I see that SNP West of Scotland Regional List MSP Stuart McMillan has been placed 6th on his party's list of candidates for next year's Scottish Parliament Election.

Stuart is facing a battle for political survival since it would require an extraordinary result for the SNP to win 6 of the 7 seats in the West of Scotland Region.

If they were able to pull this off then one of the two big hitters on the list - the Tories Annabel Goldie or the Lib Dems Ross Finnie - would fail to be elected.

I wonder who would would miss most: Stuart, Annabel or Ross?

  1. having read some of the comments on here over the last few days it looks like the local SNP,/msp and councillors are struggling to make a case for their failed policies.
I thought it was the government opposition party who went on the attack. Seems like the SNP are laying into labour through fear.
I was at the port high parents council meeting earlier this week and afterwards Mr Mcleod was the one under fire from many parents. As for Chris Osborne ,how did this imbecile get to become a councillor.

  2. Your'e forgetting two things Stephen..
    1) He may well win the constituency instead of Duncan McNeil. Or are Labour arrogantly assuming they'll always win in Greenock?

    2) Even if he does not, it only takes a couple of the people higher on that list to win their constituencies, and he'll go up to fourth or third...

  3. I am quietly confident that Duncan will win the new seat Sean, particularly since it now includes Port Glasgow. I am not complacent however and know that we will fight for every vote.

I am also confident that no SNP candidate higher up the list will win a constituency seat.

Who do you think will win a constituency seat?

  4. People in Inverclyde are not stupid. If the SNP don’t rate Stuart McMillan why should they?
