A matter of weeks after attacking secret Tory plans to increase VAT, Lib Dem Leader Nick Clegg sat beside Chancellor George Osborne this afternoon as he announced a rise in the basic rate to 20%, without a hint of embarrassment.
Remember Mr Clegg launching his party's national "Tory VAT Bombshell" poster campaign in Glasgow along with Charles Kennedy and Tavish Scott?
No wonder we politicians get such a bad name!
