Work is well underway on the new children's play area in Auchenleck Lane in Port Glasgow, next to the Devol community facility.
New play equipment has been installed on part of the site of the MUGA. The MUGA will be reduced in size to create a smaller ball court.
The work should be completed by mid August with the installation of a new fence to separate the play area and ball court.
Below are images of the play equipment and new site layout.
The next project on my agenda is the proposed new MUGA and play area on the grass site in front of Boglestone Community Centre. Officers are currently drawing up plans for this and I am hopeful that the provision will be in place within the next few months.
Providing our children and young people with modern play facilities is a high priority for the Labour-led Administration.
Four weeks on and it's been installed and much enjoyed by the children in the area, including my own. Unfortunately it has also already been vandalised and I understand the basket swing has been taken away for repair.
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame to see something the Devol community has needed for 40 years stay intact for less than a month.
I will ask the wardens to give the area attention Gerry.
